AUDITION DETAILS:

To participate in the Audition Meeting or Auditions, actors must have a parent permission form completed by December 10. This form is now closed.

Roles Available:

  • Click the link below for a list of roles.

  • Many actors in the show will play multiple roles.

  • Roles may be played by any gender.

  • There are a few roles that will only be played by 7th and 8th graders.

  • The Wizard of Oz (Youth Edition) casting calls for only 14 roles plus an ensemble with featured parts. Depending on the audition turnout, the cast size may be limited in order to stage this production at Neeta.

CONFLICTS:

Students who participate in Neeta Spring sports MAY NOT audition because it regularly conflicts after school with daily rehearsals, tech week, and shows.

Please DO NOT audition if you have many conflicts from January-April or if you are unavailable in the month of April!

April includes our MANDATORY Tech Week (April 13-16) and show dates (April 17-25).

AUDiTION MATERIALS

Students will be expected to come to auditions with all three parts below prepared. The Audition Form is due by Friday, December 12, 2025. Don’t forget to read through the Audition Info Flyer and fill out the Parent Permission Form above.

  1. Choreography: There are two videos and a track in the Audition Choreography folder - a breakdown video where Miss Casey talks you through all the steps, a video with the music to dance along with, and a track to practice on your own. On audition day, you will be put in groups to perform this dance for the audition panel.

  2. Song: Use the character chart below to find the title of the song that you should prepare based on the character that you are auditioning for. The Audition Music folder contains subfolders for rehearsal tracks (with vocals), performance tracks (without vocals), and sheet music. For your audition, you will sing with the performance track version.

  3. Side to Read: Use the character chart below to find the title of the side that you should prepare to read based on the character that you are auditioning for. The Audition Sides folder contains separate files for each character. For your audition, you will be expected to perform this side for the audition panel.
